About the event

The Shafer Historical Museum offers its latest community history project, “Our Methow Home: Winthrop, the first 60 years,” at the Red Barn Auditorium in Winthrop on Friday, August 22 from 7-9 pm and on Saturday, August 23 from 1-3 pm. You will be introduced to homesteaders, promoters, characters, events, and area development through a video presentation, displays of old photos and maps, and a Q&A session. You will hear some surprising facts, how people lived without our current comforts, and lots of old tales. This is a free event and appropriate for all ages.
