8th WA Poet Laureate to Visit the Valley
The Confluence: Art in Twisp is happy to host the newest Washington State Poet
Laureate, Derek Sheffield on April 30. Sheffield will visit with LBHS Senior AP English
students who will be joined by students from the Independent Learning Center to
discuss the necessity and pervasiveness of poetry. At 7 pm, Sheffield will be joined by
local poets Thome George and Subhaga Crystal Bacon for a reading at the Gallery. The
