A Washington native, Cari grew up coming to a rustic family cabin outside of Twisp as a child. Cari majored in English at Westmont College in Santa Barbara and has a background in education, the non-profit sector, and personal training. She moved to the Methow Valley in 2021 with her husband Chad, a Liberty Bell and Methow Valley Nordic ski team alum, and their two daughters. Fun fact: Cari's mom came from the Bay Area to work a summer for the Forest Service in Twisp in the late 1970s, at the site where TwispWorks now stands. She then worked in the restaurant business for 23 years, with 12 of those spent in Portland Oregon running her own Creole restaurant, Acadia Bistro. She moved to the Methow Valley in 2010 and built a silversmithing studio and became the mom of twin girls. Before joining the Methow Recycles family in 2021, she worked at the Confluence Gallery for six years, and was as the Executive Director there for three. She is now the Executive Director at Methow Arts, on the board of directors for the Twisp Creative District, and is a partner at the Methow Valley Jeweler's Collective. Methow Arts Methow Valley Jewelers Collective Tim Matsui Town Council Representative Tim is a photojournalist and filmmaker with expertise in trauma, victimization and human trafficking. He has often crossed political, economic, ideological, and social bounds to understand and accurately report stories. He is a nonprofit founder, impact producer, community educator and organizer, speaker and collaborator who has created programmatic and policy change addressing human trafficking nationwide. Through this, he has worked extensively with social services, law enforcement, policy makers, and the judiciary. Tim believes we all deserve to experience what the Methow and our community have to offer. Finding the right balance to ensure we can all prosper, in the various ways we define prosperity, is his motivation for serving on Twisp Town Council and the Twisp Chamber. Tim Matsui Town of Twisp Amber Bosco Twisp Events and Marketing Coordinator Amber is a photographer and event producer based in Twisp, where she blends creativity with a deep love for community engagement. Before landing in Washington in 2019, she worked as a program coordinator for an international volunteer organization in Thailand and Nepal: an experience that shaped her passion for connection-driven work. She went on to create one of the country’s largest free Yoga in the Park series in Seattle, bringing thousands of people together through movement and shared experience. Our tasting room and production space is in Twisp, WA where visitors can sample our products and learn about the distilling process. Last Chance Distilling is named after Last Chance Point which sits at 7049' elevation at the head of the Methow Valley. It shares its name with Last Chance Saloon, which was an old backcountry watering hole for miners in the early 1900s. It seemed only fitting to keep that tradition alive. GUNN RANCH GIN: We hand macerate our unique botanical blend to extract essential oils/aromas and then soak them overnight in our gin still, Ginny (named after Virginia Ridge). We then distill this botanical blend, carefully monitoring temperatures, alcohol percentage and taste. We make cuts throughout the run as the botanical oils are vaporized and the flavors change in the distillate. Once the run is complete, we taste, blend and proof to our desired ABV using the amazing Methow Valley water. We then bottle and label by hand to create Gunn Ranch Gin, a London Dry Style gin at 47%ABV. BUCK MOUNTAIN BOURBON: As a micro distillery, we artfully blend 3yr old and 5yr old Kentucky Bourbons to our own specification. Our Buck Mountain Bourbon is a Straight Bourbon Whiskey, blended and proofed to 48%ABV, then hand bottled and labeled. RAVEN RIDGE RYE: Coming July 2024 We are working to procure a new whiskey still, and will work with Bluebird Grains and OSB to develop unique mash bills that we will ferment and distill in house.
